Purchase of 50 additional graves - 2024
Further to our AGM in August of 23′, the Shura proposed to purchase more graves at Brandwood End Cemetery in addition to the 100 graves. This was received positively and we have had the opportunity to purchase a further 50 graves, Alhamdulillah.
Brandwood End Cemetery - August 2021
Alhamdulillah, WCG has committed to purchasing 100 graves at the Brandwood End Cemetery. The graves will fall under the operations of Brandwood Muslim Burials who will have 800 dedicated Muslim graves located in the heart of Birmingham, Kings Heath. The graves will be managed in accordance with Sharia principles and values of the Hanafi Madhab. The graves will be constructed using hard wood planks on either side and similarly, a covering using the same material, once the deceased is lowered. The membership fee increased this year for the purchase however the importance of having graves locally, accessible and in light of the current experiences faced during the covid pandemic was an opportunity not to be missed. The graves will have a 75 years lease from the day it is used. There will be an option for family members to extend this if they wish to do so.
